Happy New Year!
For many of us this is the first full working week of 2019 and we are back to battle stations. As we trudge back to the grind of our several occupations, it is indeed necessary to be thankful for another new year to set/ revise/complete our personal and or career goals.
Sometimes one wonders even whether to bother with these goals and co but truly if we don’t bother then really life may not worth all it is cracked up to be. Goals give us something to look forward to, to aim for, to aspire to and for me most importantly, a reason to be thankful as I take each step towards achievement. Also it enables me reflect with perspective so as to make smarter decisions for my future.
Though some people focus more on the failures, unsuccessfuls and unattained and often they do so to discouragement, history and human endeavour directs otherwise as these events serve for us the stepping stones for improvement, redirection and refocus for progress.
We have heard the thousand times effect of Thomas Edison and the trails of rejection for Michael Jordan positioning them for the success they both achieved in life. These must give us the courage to press on undeterred by setbacks, persevere in the challenges and hold on to the great dreams of our hearts.
One of the write ups from my devotional for this year was titled “Battle and Blessing” ; how poignant a way to describe life. A journey of battles and blessings running parallel sometimes alternating, sometimes concurrent and other times intertwined.
As a Christian, our imagination is the workplace of the Holy Spirit and we are encouraged that God is able to do exceeding abundantly above that we can think or imagine.
Dream a new dream, think of big and better things, let your imagination run wild for the hopes and aspirations of your life
